Freight box volume explained

About Volume

If you are sending large lightweight items you may be charged a “volumetric payweight” rather than the actual weight. If so, the cost of the shipment will be based on the space your boxes take up on the plane, ship, or truck. In the trade we call these “Fresh Air Shipments”.

Please note : All carriers will check this calculation.

We want "happy, informed customers who would recommend us to friends" so we tell you this to avoid costly surprises.

To calculate the “volumetric payweight” if applicable :

Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of
each carton and divide the result by 5000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.

Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of each carton and divide the result by 3000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.

Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of each carton and divide the result by 1000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.

All Airlines and Shipping Companies will check for the above. We pride ourselves in our honest approach and will be more than happy to work out the volume for you.
