About Volume

If you are sending large lightweight items you may be charged a “volumetric payweight” rather than the actual weight. If so, the cost of the shipment will be based on the space your boxes take up on the plane, ship, or truck. In the trade we call these “Fresh Air Shipments”.

To calculate the “volumetric payweight” if applicable :

	Airfreight & Courier   Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of each carton and divide the result by 5000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.
	Roadfreight   Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of each carton and divide the result by 3000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.
	Seafreight   Simply multiply the length (cm ) x width ( cm ) x height ( cm ) of each carton and divide the result by 1000. This will give you the payweight in Kg’s.
